Arriving Fall 2026 📖
Ready to hold your very own book in your hands?
You don’t need an agent, unlimited time at a writer’s retreat, or an MFA. You can be deep in the trenches of motherhood, a career pivot, or a health challenge and still finish your book. I know, because I did.
You can, too.
According to The Alliance for Independent Authors, indie author income is growing 6% year-over-year while traditional publishing income is trending down. Now is the PERFECT time to take creative agency over your story. Not sure yet?
I created a free “Is self-publishing right for me?” PDF to help you take an honest inventory of where you are and what your goals are for your story.

What You'll Learn
This isn’t a generic, “how-to publish a book.” You can get that anywhere, for free. This is a step by step course with specific examples from start to finish with real numbers, mistakes, and lessons learned.
More importantly, it’s self-paced for folks with full, busy lives carving out spare moments of time to become an author without waiting for anyone else’s permission.
Part 1
How to make a book you can hold in your hands
We’ll start with how to know when your first draft is ready for publication, including all the stages of editing, and when to hire a professional. Next, we’ll dive into the cover and interior design (and the tools to use so it doesn’t look like it was made in Canva!) as well as the importance of choosing the right BISAC categories, ISBN numbers, author bio, and headshots. Finally, you’ll learn the difference between print on demand vs. keeping your own physical inventory and why you might want to do both!
By the end, you'll have a finished, print-ready book and a way to sell it that doesn't depend on Amazon.

Part 2
How to build an author platform that fits with your actual life
In Part 2 we'll build an author platform that actually fits your life. I'll share the marketing that's worked and what hasn't, how to lean on relationships and community, and how I used AI in the process (and where I deliberately didn't). We'll set up business systems that serve you, look at revenue streams beyond book sales, and get honest about defining what success means for you in this season.
At the end, you'll have a map for a career you can sustain and grow on your timeline.
In the meantime…
Follow along as I write my second novel, "Odessa” in real time, in public on Substack. Each week I share excerpts from the first draft and updates on building an author career from scratch from the trenches of motherhood
and creativity.
